Hello World.

I’m Casey.

Four years in the Air Force. A couple of decades since, building the platforms underneath enterprise software — startups through IPO, hyperscalers, and now Oracle Cloud where I run the platform engineering org. That part of the story has its own venue. This is the other part.

On the side, I run a small studio called NimbleZen. There are a few things I’m building there. I’ll tell you about them as they’re worth telling you about. No drum rolls.

The newsletter will mostly be about how AI is changing the craft of making things. Not the discourse version — the day-to-day. What it’s actually like to design, decide, and ship when half your tools just got rewritten under you. I’m interested in where this is going. I want to talk about it plainly from inside the work.

And occasionally the other things. Concerts. Guitar playing. Parks. The small obsessions. Whatever I can’t shake.

No schedule. When there’s something worth saying, it lands.
